Mataranka

We had been told not to miss the hot springs at Mataranka, so we didn’t.

Elsey National Park, is the site of Elsey Station, immortalised in Jeannie Gunn’s famous Australian Classic, “We of the Never Never”.

We stopped in Mataranka for some refreshments at the local pub, the Old Elsey Roadside Inn.

The inside is even quainter than the outside.

Well, at least I was dressed to standard.

Straight out of Crocodile Dundee.

They say that this is the biggest pie in the country. I think they’re right.

I’ve never seen anything like it.

Huge, in fact.

A Mrs. Kelly’s home made Buffalo pie.

Best and biggest meat pie ever- full of meaty chunks. (reads like an ad for dog food)
