Random note #183,641
You could hardly script the story of the daycare facility in Canberra operated by a former Sudanese refugee and populated by 74 phantom children and the inability of ham fisted bungling bureaucrats and authorities to have their interest piqued and their index of suspicion raised, by the singular absence of children.
In a case of life imitating art, this is the Monty Python cheese shop script and the Yes Minister hospital with no patients sketch of three and four decades ago writ large.
On another, more serious level, the entire farce is redolent of the bureaucrats, politicians and local authorities central to the widespread sexual abuse scandal involving 1400 children in the North Yorkshire town of Rotherham in the UK between 1997 and 2013.
Everyone’s judgement was clouded and they refused to see or acknowledge what was going on around them as they walked on politically correct, multi-culti egg shells for fear of offending the sensitivities of the community and being labeled as racists or Islamophobes.
