I’m astonished but not surprised. It seems quite apparent, even to the most casual or disinterested observer, that the ABC has either lost its way or been hijacked by the green left. All evidence points to the later. So divorced and alienated from the community and taxpayers it’s chartered to serve makes it necessary its time for an inquiry into the ABC.
The typical bias by omission in the Don Dale episode was absolutely central. If the story was produced as told by the players their wouldn’t have been a program and therefore  a Royal Commission
“…The Don Dale royal commission has agreed to shield the ABC from criticism by redacting paragraphs attacking the controversial Four Corners program from a statement provided by former corrections minister John Elferink, following a request from the broadcaster’s lawyers.

The sensational report, entitled Australia’s Shame, portrayed Mr Elferink as a motorcycle riding renegade and did not highlight attempts his government had made to deal with longstanding issues in Northern Territory youth justice.

It also failed to mention that the incidents it showed in graphic, leaked CCTV footage had in virtually all cases already been investigated. One guard had been charged, tried, acquitted and the acquittal upheld on appeal.

Mr Elferink sought to highlight these apparent shortcomings with the ABC’s “flagship” journalism in a statement given to the Royal Commission into the Protection and Detention of Children in the NT ahead of his appearance this morning. His lawyer, Andrew Harris SC, told the inquiry his client had been “a standing target for six months” and deserved his say.

Counsel assisting the commission, Peter Morrissey SC, said the statement presented “an

arguable case for grievance on behalf of Mr Elferink” but was also “capable of generating a lengthy and distracting side issue”.

Commissioner Margaret White said that while Mr Elferink’s words were “pretty strong”, issues around what the ABC’s reporter, Caro Meldrum-Hanna, might have “edited out” were not relevant to the inquiry’s terms of reference.

The royal commission was called in direct response to the Four Corners program..”  ABC Shielded from criticism
