What does the Fine Cotton ring-in horse racing scandal have to do with the fiction of transgender?

Everything, nothing and a lot, actually.

We often read and hear about men who think they’re women, burning up the pool or on the track and beating biological women in their chosen sport.

But when did you last read or hear about the opposite.

About women who think they’re men, burning up the pool or on the track and beating biological men  in THEIR chosen sport.

It doesn’t happen.

𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧:— That simple thought experiment confirms that no matter the wiring in the brain or what you think, biology and chromosomes matter.

Switching Fine Cotton out for the faster Bold Personality complete with a lick of white paint on the fetlocks doesn’t make you any more Bold Personality than deciding on a whim that you are a woman and similarly trying to cheat and steal your way to victory.

A male mediocrity, a total also-ran male athlete can only win by doing a Fine Cotton and cheating by pretending he’s something that he’s not. In horse racing that’s a crime and in the case of Fine Cotton attempt to defraud punters and bookmakers alike, three people went to jail.

What I still can’t get my head around is that governments, sporting authorities, much of the corporate world and the media, with a straight face, believe in, promote, support, celebrate and enable this stuff as legitimate and don’t  see it for the growing mental health and misogynistic issue that it actually is.
