The term pathological liar is a brutal set of words, and I’ve never heard it attributed or applied to any individual politician other than Donald Trump.

It’s obviously designed to damage and to further convey the impression and frame the individual that “he’s not one of us” that he’s an outsider and a blow in and not fitting of the profession like the rest of us.

It’s rule 13 of Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals. Pick the target, freeze it, personalise it, and polarise it.

It’s strong and nasty imagery much like the words, psychopath or sociopath. Straight away we can visualise the disorder.

But when characterised in the more general and broader sense as a condition, “the pathology of lying” as opposed to that of a “pathological liar” (an individual carrier) it has a much less brutal and a much gentler application.

As such, the “condition” of pathology of lying is a term that can be applied to all politicians of all persuasions.

Unfortunately, the nature of the political profession and others, throws up situations where they have little choice other than to spin (lie) or bullshit their way out of it.
