The word for the first month of the year, January derives from the name of the god of  beginnings in ancient Rome. In Roman mythology, where the Romans had a god for everything Poseidon, god of the sea; Venus, goddess of love and beauty and Apollo the god of the sun to name just a few. Janus was the god of doors, gates, and transitions

Janus is depicted as having two faces. One looking forward to the future and the other looking to the past. Think, new year, old year.

In more recent times its also come to generally mean being two faced with one face as honourable and the other being of duplicity and deceit

The Teals are the party of the two faces of Janus. Holding themselves out to be honourable and decent while playing a deceptive and duplicitos two-faced, pea and thimble game.

They walk both sides of the street.

Back home in their suburban electorates away from the parry, thrust and hurl burly of Canberra when running for election with their ground game of happy warriors with their corflutes, t-shirts and YouTube advertising and branding, they pass themselves off as your local, community focused and concerned “independent” but when in Canberra they are quite obviously part of brand Teal.

So which is it? Are they independent or party affiliated? Why is this important?

Because, If the Teals are supporting the government’s misinformation bill, how about they lead by example and stop calling themselves “independent” when quite clearly they are not.
