After reading several books on this over the last number of years, broadcaster and podcaster, Glen Beck goes one better and distills and condenses the events since 2016 in American politics down to 15 minutes or so.
It’s only when you again hear those events summarised, highlighted and compressed into brief steps and a bullet point format, that for those that don’t have the time can understand just how shocking, desperate and outrageously audacious those events and attempts to hijack an entire country and jail and bankrupt political opponents with totally fabricated crimes and charges, with a corrupt and politicised judiciary have been.
And still, although all the couple of dozen main players are well known from Barack Obama down, with a vast breadcrumb trail of hard evidence of dates, times, people, places emails, texts and recordings, they still walk free.
So far, no one has ever faced any kind of conspiracy charges and that is what has got Trump’s base angry.
The evidence is there and they want to see people perp walked and charged otherwise when they get the opportunity they’ll just do it again.
Major and once revered institutions of American life like the FBI have been totally corrupted by deeply embedded political operatives.
It’s one thing for America to rightly, call out countries like Ukraine and in most recent days the third world lawlessness and corruption of Somalia and the corruption of Venezuela and Mexico with the drug cartels, but the level of corruption at the heart of American politics while parading itself as a paragon of democracy and moral virtue is next level. It is totally broken.
And that is what is most shocking.
Those other countries know what they are and don’t pretend otherwise and they know that we know and they don’t seem to care.
But America? The world expects better.
Politics is a dirty business but what has gone on in the US since 2016 is not politics as usual.
