Watching the haters on Australia Day, it’s almost like watching a pathetic, struggling, sad, mass group therapy session.
Like Grandpa Simpson railing and shouting at the cloud while the rest of the country is kicking back having a good time.
It’s like an AA (Angry Australian) meeting where everyone admits to their self loathing and then tries to project their hatred onto everyone else.
So negative, so unnecessary and so pointless.
Just stop with your constant stream of moaning, whinging, whining and bitching. Why not just take a look around, appreciate what you’ve got and the opportunities presented, get on with your miserable lives and stop trying to blame your narrow, narky and pathetic existence and circumstances on everything and everyone else.
It may come as a shock but in the big scheme of things, no one cares or gives a damn what you think.
For all intents and purposes you are irrelevant and will be long forgotten like you never existed. But here’s the rub. Australia will live on.
Perhaps the self loathers and haters should take note of the Serenity Prayer written by the, Lutheran theologian, Reinhold Niebuhr in the early 20th century and adopted by the real AA.
“..𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐝𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐨 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞..”
Australia was settled by the British in 1788. That’s a fact, that’s history.
Always was. Always will be.
And much as you would like to, you can’t rewrite it you can’t change it.
Time to “𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞” and move on…
