Perhaps in Australia we’ve reached a stage where the legal phrase, “Reckless Indifference” needs to be repurposed and criminally applied to politicians like Climate and Renewables minister, Chris Bowen who embraces his mission with such great zeal, alacrity and enthusiasm.
Like a mad scientist determined to blow up the world or in this case, the electricity grid, he is salivating and drooling and can’t wait to see the fruits of his work.
Defined thus :— “𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐧𝐞𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐮𝐥𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝”
The key phrase and key word in this is “probable consequences” and the word “intended”.
It has all been intentional and the consequences all too apparent.
Or, to throw in another legal phrase, “𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭”. That is, premeditated or predetermined. And what about “wilfully and knowingly”. Yep, that also fits.
With warnings over the possibility of the collapse of the electricity grid due to the deliberate phasing out of coal because it has been deliberately made uneconomical with the subsidy of renewables which simply can’t handle baseload, the time has come for the political class to be made accountable.
By accountable I don’t just mean voting them out at the ballot box. That’s too easy and there’s no penalty in the true, criminal sense.
And that is what we’re talking about. A crime.
What the climate catastrophists and their political enablers are doing is murdering the economy, no different to a mobster pulling a plastic bag over the head of the economy and asphyxiating it.
Politicians are immune from the consequences of their actions but it’s time that immunity was lifted so as to make them think through what they’re doing.
Only then will we see them driven by practical motives rather than ideology.
