The strategy for many years by the left, has been to manipulate and reframe language to mean what they want it to mean and so that overtime it becomes the accepted definition.

They are brilliant at hijacking, twisting and distorting long standing and understood concepts like free speech, โour democracyโ and more recently, fascism. Step 1..Identify everything they disagree with and label it hate speech. Then itโs just a lillypad hop to Step 2. At which they are then on a glide path to shutting you down as a racist, bigot, homophobe and whatever other โistโ โismโ and โphobeโ they can dream up.
The very people who say theyโre concerned with free speech are the same people who are trying to muzzle and silence free speech.
No normal person disagrees with free speech but what weโve seen recently is the absolute and total abuse of free speech that stops short of incitement to most, describing people as Hitler and Nazis etc but the intended message still gets through to the few.
Hate speech is deliberately meant to remain open ended and undefinable so they can decide to whom and what it applies and when.
Itโs like the US Supreme Court judge in America in 1964 when asked to define or describe his standard for hard core pornography.
Although he couldnโt provide a precise definition he said, โ๐ ๐ค๐ง๐จ๐ฐ ๐ ๐ฐ๐ก๐๐ง ๐ ๐ฌ๐๐ ๐ข๐ญโ.
Thatโs the same imprecision and flexibility of hate speech
