The difference between Trump and all his predecessors is that for them they become overawed and bedazzled by the position and power. The White House, Airforce One and everything else that goes with the job. It’s been a step up.
Trump on the other hand, already had all of that and more.
His own Trump Tower, private jet and the luxury of Mara Lago and various golf courses and other properties around the world.
He was beyond bedazzling. He couldn’t be pushed around and bullied by advisers overloading him and keeping him busy with paperwork while they ran the show.
He’s used to being the boss, the CEO and Chairman of the Board. He’s not intimidated by it all or the politics.
He already had his own brand and a far superior position in his private world, answerable to no one.
That’s why he can operate and freewheel, the way he does. He’s into his second term so what the hell. He’s untouchable.
