Everyone’s calling the Josh Freydenberg “speech” yesterday a speech. I disagree with that characterisation and framing.
The reason it was so effective is because it wasn’t a speech at all as we understand a typical speech to be from a politician.
A speech is more prepared lines with a beginning, a middle and an end.
But Freydeberg’s delivery was extemporaneous and much more that of an unprepared talk.
