The idiom β€œπ­π’π₯𝐭𝐒𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐒𝐧𝐝𝐦𝐒π₯π₯𝐬” comes from Don Quixote (1605) and means to be attacking imaginary enemies or pursuing futile goals.

I find it rich and pregnant with irony that 400 years later, here we are attacking the imaginary enemy of c02 with windmills and pursuing the futile goal of changing the climate
