Political violence is the end result of intellectual bankruptcy and the inability to mount, frame and articulate an argument to support your thesis.
Left or right, violence is all they have left when they’ve exhausted their shallow stash of even more shallow arguments.
It’s like banter in a pub that ratchets up to an argument and then spills out on to the street in a brawl with broken bottles then a gang driveby with guns blazing.
Not dissimilar to and in fact the same way, as the dictum of Carl Von Clausewitz that “𝐰𝐚𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐛𝐲 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬”..
When you run out of one option to achieve an aim or objective you go to the next level: – War.
