I’m old enough to remember a time when we used to have “grid stability” as they call it, 365 days a year.
It was a simple time when energy was never a part of any conversation.
A time when energy generation and distribution was never, ever an issue or a feature of the daily news except perhaps to announce a new power station coming on stream or a planned energy upgrade outage for an hour so. That was the extent of the excitement.
A time when energy was available, affordable and reliable.
So what happened? How and where did it go so badly wrong?
The political opportunism and advantage of green ideology, a deliberate global scare campaign of roiling seas, orchestrated out of the U.N. and conflicting answers to a non existent and bogus problem combined with a disinterested, disengaged populace, until it was too late .
Myriad experts and equally myriad acronyms, rent seekers and of course newly invented bureaucracies, global, federal and state, were interposed, inserted and cobbled on to our cheap, efficient and reliable energy system until it staggered and collapsed under the lumbering ideological weight. And of course, with trillions of dollars expended.
The rest as they say, is history.
In decades and centuries to come, history will record and text books will be written about this time and this deliberate attack on the literal energy heartbeat of the economies of the West and our subsequent, managed economic decline and demise
A moment framed through the question of, “𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲”?
This, “destroying the village to save it” mindset towards energy has all been for nothing other than political advantage.
