Random Notes - Idle Thoughts

Memo Fairfax/SMH. Re Jacqueline Maley — Know what you’re talking about or don’t talk about it

Your “journalists” should either holster there keyboard or check their activism and if they don’t know what they’re talking about it they shouldn’t talk about it. It’s an old trick from the alarmists when they either don’t know the difference or deliberately conflate carbon and particulates (as from a wood burning fire) and Co2, a clear colourless and odourless trace gas. Case in point, Jacqueline Maley, climate catastrophist, activist, alarmist and clueless.

Donald Trump: The only leader getting things done. Miranda Devine, Daily Telegraph

Miranda Devine with another slam dunk column that cuts through and calls out the effete, pantie waist Euro/Canadian-cronies
“..South Korea has halted the deployment of a missile defence system because it wants to run an “environmental impact assessment” first. There’s the absurdity of effete democracies in one sentence. You’d think speed would be of the essence when you are facing a crazed dictator intent on nuclear Armageddon at your doorstep. But, no, not in a universe where G20 leaders think climate change is more dangerous than Islamic terrorism or Kim Jong Un, and where Donald Trump is the biggest threat to world peace…”

Wetherill must come clean — Graham Richardson, The Australian

Musk is a proven grand master at relieving governments of huge chunks of taxpayers’ money. It is a fair assumption that he is not paying the whole of the bill. Well then, how much is he coughing up and how much is Jay Weatherill putting in. If Musk is putting it all in then surely the South Australian Premier would be crowing about his negotiation skills.

Had Hillary Clinton won the election — American Thinker

On the Donald Trump Jr, shock, horror email scandal it’s interesting to consider that the media is going after DT Jr for doing what exactly? Releasing the entire email chain? Unlike Hillary Clinton who, instead of releasing her 30,000 emails from her private server, deleted them. Consider this. “…Hillary and her campaign aides have long been involved with Russia for reasons of personal gain. Clinton herself got $145 million in donations to the Clinton Foundation for allowing Russia to take over twenty percent of all uranium production in the U.S. Her campaign chairman, John Podesta, is reaping the financial benefits of being on the board of a Russian company, Joule, which he did not disclose…”

Random Note #193,421 — Turnbull’s speech, the full reveal

Random Note #193,421 — Turnbull’s speech, the full reveal

Turnbull has finally decided to come out of the closet for the full reveal with his latest slick and tricky attempt to redefine, rebrand, rebadge and reposition the Libs as “centrist.”
There’s no other way to characterise this other than a non to subtle final chess move in the theft of the Liberal Party from its base by the Fabians. It’s no coincidence that the crest of the Fabians is an equally non to subtle, wolf in sheeps clothing.

Energy Bill Pain: Surge in Cut-offs — The Australian

How the hell did we arrive here you ask? The answer is because of the joint ticket of energy policy driven by Turnbull’s Liberals and Labor. Last week South Australia made history by achieving the dubious distinction of dislodging Denmark and now has THE most expensive electricity in the world. “…Australia is entering the “realm of third world countries” with residential power disconnections rising by as much as 140 per cent in six years and the average household paying more than double what it did a decade ago to keep the lights on. Australian Energy Regulator figures reveal almost 60,000 households are on electricity hardship payments and another 151,862 customers are on electricity payment plans. Escalating consumers’ pain, electricity prices increased up to 20 per cent last weekend and Victoria yesterday introduced emissions restrictions that would prevent even the cleanest coal-fired power…”

The Time Machine the Eloi — Never have so many known so little about so much — American Thinker

In many posts over the years, both blog and Facebook, when discussing the zombie like mindlessness of many of the millennial generation and others under the spell of political correctness, I’ve described them as being analogous to the Eloi in HG Well’s Time Machine. It seems I’m not the only one.

“..In our own time, knowledge is becoming superfluous to material comfort. The need to understand cause and effect, history, precedent, and trial and error are optional, as technology is omnipresent, robust, and remarkably reliable. The before times are fading from living memory and will soon belong to history nobody reads. (Remember the library scene where books of knowledge crumbled to dust? Or just ask a Harvard or Yale undergrad.) The Eloi had transcended the need for ideology or philosophy. They were content with the eternal present..”

If you think Trump’s tweets are ‘unprecedented,’ you don’t know about Harry Truman — American Thinker

Harry Truman is one of the few modern presidents seemingly liked by both sides. A few months ago, President Trump was excoriated for his “unprecedented” tweet to Nordstrom’s concerning their shabby treatment of Ivanka. Now, after a tweet about Mika and Joe of Morning Joe, he is again being attacked by seemingly the whole world. Unprecedented? Recall the following letter from Truman to the music critic of the Washington Post. Maybe President Trump he is just channelling Harry. This famous letter just cannot be reprinted too often
