This post isnโt so much about Ben Roberts Smith as it is about prevailing attitudes.
As long as the West continues to fight itโs wars under Marquis of Queensbury rules while the other side simply fights to win by any and all means necessary with no regard to rules while our troops on the ground have to second guess themselves for fear of retribution years down the track in some quiet, respectful, air conditioned courtroom thousands of miles and light years removed from the heat, the sweat, the fog, the confusion and grind of the battlefield, as they step around or even on an IED,ย the West will continue to lose as we have done in every war since WW2.
Napoleon had it right when he said,
In other words donโt just go through the motions and put on a show. Once you commit to doing something, war (or anything) and put boots on the ground, cut them loose and let them do their job.
This is the nature of war extending back thousands of years but typical of the supposedly very modern and sophisticated West, thereโs the twisted view that with our woke ideology, our diversity, equity and inclusion agenda and armed with ourย gender pronouns we can simply bend and distort the horror and the icky reality of war to fit our contemporary mores and values and make the enemy see things our way.
That Dusty Springfield, Wishin’ and Hopin’, illogical view only works if the other side shares those cultural mores and values. They donโt.
And unlike boxing or other sports thereโs no referee in the middle, on the ground in real time, calling time out, red flagging and sending people off.
And so the losses will continue to mount.
Do we seriously think China will fight by our mores and values or their mores and values? Think about it.
How did Afghanistan and Iraq and Vietnam finish up again?
Please, remind me.
