It’s been a tough and dispiriting 12 months for her, what, with losing the war on the misinformation bill, Elon Musk and X now in top gear and making a real difference globally and now Meta and Zuckerberg also catching up with majority, community sentiment over fact checkers and instead harnessing the X idea of community notes whereby many resolve conjecture and opinion and not just a single, Orwellian fact checker in their basement.
The problem with independent factchecking is that it never was either independent or for that matter, factual. The entire, underlying idea was to buttress the narrative of the left. That was all it was about.
Fact checking was a cottage industry concept invented by the left, coincidental to Trump’s election in 2016 and the explosion of, and his personal use of social media.
